Technische Universität Wien – Vienna Center for Logic and Algorithms: Scholarships for Logical Methods in Computer Science - LogiCS doctoral college
The LogiCS doctoral program is a 4-year-PhD degree program funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF and run jointly by the three Austrian universities TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), Graz University of Technology and Johannes Kepler University Linz.
While many of the basic questions in computer science are now well understood, its role in science, technology, and everyday results in ever new challenges and big open research questions that require computers to perform non-trivial reasoning tasks.ed students who want to work in the field of Logical Methods in Computer Science. In the years 2018-2022, the doctoral college will admit 16 PhD students where 30% of the positions are reserved for female candidates.

Hinweise zur Bewerbung
We invite applicants from all countries to apply. Previous knowledge in the areas of the doctoral college (computational logic, databases/AI, verification) is desirable but not required. Applicants may state their preference for an advisor or research field in the admission form. Assignment to the PhD advisor and one or more co-advisors should be decided at the point of admission to the program.

2. The positions will be filled on continuous basis till October 2018.
3. Applications will be screened on the following dates: June 1, 2018; July 1, 2018; September 1, 2018.
Shortlisted students will be invited for two rounds of interviews by video-conference and face to face.
Voraussetzungen
We invite applicants from all countries to apply. Candidates should hold a MSc or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Theoretical Philosophy or related fields, and an excellent record of study. Candidates with comparable achievements (e.g., bachelor of honors) may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Previous knowledge in the areas of the doctoral college (computational logic, databases/AI, verification) is desirable but not required.
